SSID Dating

Intro Almost everything we use these day’s supports wireless. So why not using it to find the love of your life or people to spend the day with? Yes, you can say it’s a bit geeky.

We see so many faces every day without knowing who he or she is on the internet we do the oppesite we don’t even take the time to say hello anymore. So what if we can change this all and have real conversations with people who are in a radius of 50 to 100 meters. See it as real life twitter where you just join the conversation with people you have never seen before.

How do we do this?

Most people use mobile devices with WiFi, we can abuse this to broadcast messages over the wireless network. So we only need software for broadcasting, to receive use the build in client.

How many characters can we use to broadcast?

The SSID can be up to 32 characters long. Maybe we can create something to broadcast multiple SSIDs or let the text scroll.

What standards are we going to use?

I think 802.11b as in everyone receive this signal.

First setup

Creating a python script to broadcast messages.

Do notice that english is not my native language so don’t look at the spelling and grammar errors.
